Workshop: Web Content Management for Publishers
Join us August 4,5,6 at SFU Vancouver! Part of SFU's Summer Publishing Workshops series, we'll be offering a three-day workshop on managing content digitally, using Web-based techniques and technologies.
Why the web? Because the web has emerged as the paradigm for content in the 21st century. Web-based tools and techniques offer fluidity, collaboration, ubiquity, and economy. A folder full of InDesign files doesn't make much sense anymore.
Whether you're in the business of making trade paperbacks, monthly magazines, ebooks, or online content, here is the emerging platform for collecting, assembling, editing, managing, and producing your publications.
Learn about navigating formats, standards, and the tools for working for them; integrating print and online production workflows; streamlining acquisitions and editorial development; and planning your organization's digital future.
Learn from experience: our faculty come from successful online publishers like TheTyee.ca, Orato.com, Rabble.ca, Internet marketing strategists BoxCar Marketing, interaction design agency Lift Studios, and UBC's Office of Learning Technologies.
If you're a publisher, of any kind, and you wish you knew better how to work with the tools you already have, this workshop is for you.
Program director is John Maxwell from SFU's Master of Publishing program.
